OLED TVs deliver the best picture quality money can buy — true blacks, infinite contrast, wide viewing angles, and stunning HDR. The good news is that prices have come down significantly, and in 2026 you can get a quality OLED for well under £1,000.

Why OLED?

Unlike LED/LCD TVs where a backlight illuminates the entire screen, OLED panels have pixels that produce their own light. This means individual pixels can switch off completely, giving you perfect blacks and infinite contrast. The result is a dramatically more lifelike image, especially in dark scenes and HDR content.

Our Top Picks

1. Philips 55OLED760 — Best Budget OLED

The OLED760 is the cheapest quality OLED you can buy in the UK, and it’s excellent. You get a true OLED panel, 3-sided Ambilight (which no other brand offers), 4K/120Hz on all four HDMI ports, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and the clean Titan OS platform. The only real compromise is peak HDR brightness. For most viewers, this is the OLED to buy.

How to Choose

If budget is your main concern, the Philips OLED760 is the clear winner — it’s hundreds less than alternatives and Ambilight is genuinely brilliant. If you want the best all-round performance and don’t mind spending more, go LG C5. And if you watch a lot of HDR content in a bright room, the Samsung S95F is the brightness king.

What About Size?

For most living rooms, 55 inches is the sweet spot. If you sit further away or want a more cinematic experience, 65 inches is worth the step up. All three TVs above are available in multiple sizes.
